The best source of information for the Graphic Arts Professional is probably the Graphic Artists Guild. A national organization, they produce a book called the “Guide to Pricing and Ethical Guidelines” which contains a wealth of information. Including legal contracts and definitions. It's a great resource for illustrators, too. The only downside to the Guild, is that they do not have an Arizona Chapter.

The AIGA does have an Arizona chapter, and they sponsor a bunch of great events throughout the year. If you plan on working in the business, your local AIGA is a good group to join.

Photographers should look to the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), or get involved with the Arizona Chapter, and for pricing start at Editorial Photographers.

The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) puts out a series of publications designed to educate clients and designers (Acrobat Required):

1: Business and EthicalExpectations for Professional Designers
2: Use of Fonts
3: Use of Illustration
4: Use of Software
5: Sales Tax
6: Guide to Copyright
7: Use of Photography
